Lars Deltrap
My name is Lars Deltrap, welcome to my website. I am an illustrator, animator and teacher. In addition to editorial illustrations for magazines and newspapers, I make animations for television, illustrate books and write and illustrate my own stories. Clients I work for include Querido, Gottmer, Sesamstraat, Zin Magazine, De Volkskrant, Quest Magazine, Zwijsen and Malmberg. Next to working in my studio, I teach art to students. I have taught at various institutions such as the TU Delft and the Amsterdam University of the Arts. Currently I work at the Illustration department of the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam.

De stemmenslurper

Illustrations for a children’s book written by Lisa Boersen, published by Gottmer in 2014.

Mika and her family receive a letter from their old aunt who lives in the jungle. The letter contains a straw with which you can suck up someone’s voice and blow it out. Auntie To thinks that in the Netherlands it is safer to keep the straw, so she asks the family to look after it. But in doing so she gives a warning: do not use the straw! But can Mika and her family resist that temptation?
